Focuses on writing, producing,
storytelling, ethics, and leadership in broadcast newsrooms. Helps
journalists think about their role as newsroom leaders. Writes
and teaches about trends in media convergence. Pays special attention
to storytelling techniques that can turn dull but important topics
into memorable stories. In 1999 and 2000, taught more than 500
newscast producers in Poynter's One-Day Workshops conducted in
17 states.
